Miami Heat superstar Dwyane Wade will miss at least two to three weeks with a strained hamstring, according to Joseph Goodman of the Miami Herald.
Wade held a surprise press conference earlier this morning at the American Airlines Arena, allowing the media a chance to discuss his injury and receive more updates.
He said the best case scenario for his return would likely be around two to three weeks, but appeared willing to miss more time if his body doesn’t respond accordingly.
“You can’t put time on it,” Wade said. “You can’t look at the hamstring and say you’re going to be out this amount of games. Like many muscle strains, you’ve got to go day-by-day.”
The 10-time All-Star sustained the injury on Tuesday night against the Milwaukee Bucks early in the third quarter, leaving the game after appearing to have strained his hamstring during a defensive possession.
Wade missed 7 games with the same injury in his other leg back in November, and experienced more issues with his hamstring only a few weeks ago.
This make’s Wade the 3rd Miami Heat player to hit the injury list this week, joining teammates Chris Anderson (elbow) and Luol Deng (calf), who are both expected to miss Friday’s matchup against the Dallas Mavericks.
