The first weekend of the NBA playoffs, which also happened to be the first two days, didn’t disappoint. We saw the struggle that was most of the Eastern Conference this season in a Wizards vs Raptors overtime “dandy,” followed by a dominant performance on behalf of the Western Conference regular season kings, the Golden State Warriors.
Coincidentally, it also happened to include an incredible 38-point playoff debut from Anthony Davis. Feel like that guy has a nice future in the NBA.
Later, we also saw exactly why James Harden is an NBA MVP candidate and the return of playoff Derrick Rose. And that was just day 1.
On day 2, we saw LeBron James bring the NBA playoffs back to Cleveland, in addition to Kyrie Irving‘s and Kevin Love‘s playoff debuts. We saw the Hawks take care of the Brooklyn Nets and the Grizzlies take the Blazers to the woodshed.
In the nightcap, and the last game of opening weekend, we saw the Clippers do something in the playoffs that we quite hadn’t seen anyone do to the Spurs in a long time — dominate them.
With all that, here are our inaugural NBA Playoff Power Rankings.
