1. CP3 is still CP3
With all of the talks this year about who the NBA’s elite point guard was being centered around a Stephen Curry/Russell Westbrook matchup, perennial NBA all-star Chris Paul was left on the outside looking in. For years, he was the unquestioned cream of the PG crop — 32 points, six assists, seven rebounds, and two steals is certainly a way to bring your name back into the discussion. He’s as dangerous as ever on the offensive end, and he made a statement defensively by limiting Tony Parker to 10 points on 4-11 shooting from the field.
2. 3-Point Efficiency
Both teams knocked down 10 three-point shots in the opening game of the series. The difference, however, was that it took the San Antonio Spurs nearly twice as many attempts to reach that mark. The Clippers shot a resounding 57 percent from beyond the arc, while San Antonio connected on a sub-par 30 percent of their three point attempts.
