Marc Gasol’s Impact
Marc Gasol has quickly become the focal point of what Memphis does on both ends of the court.
Gasol led the Grizzlies in Game 5 with 26 points and 14 rebounds, but his impact goes much deeper than that.
According to ESPN Stats, “The Grizzlies were more efficient offensively on possessions in which Gasol got a touch. They shot 53 percent on those possessions, compared to 35 percent when Gasol did not get a touch.”
An easy way to get Gasol going was to feed him the ball in the post as he shot 16-of-29 on those plays in the first round series against Portland.
Gasol was a complete beast in the post in Game 5 going 5-of-7 on field goal attempts out of the post.
