4. New York Knicks: Justise Winslow, Duke
Although Mudiay is a tempting option, the Knicks pull off a major shocker drafting Justise Winslow instead. He’s a better fit for the triangle, since he can play multiple positions and score points in the flow of an offense. Plus, he’s got the defensive versatility and offensive upside to become a Jimmy Butler type player.
5. Orlando Magic: Willie Cauley-Stein, Kentucky
After losing out on Winslow, the Magic opt to play it safe by drafting a defensive gem in Willie Cauley-Stein. He’s exactly the type of rim protector they need in their frontcourt (ranked 27th in defensive efficiency per Hoopsstats.com) and should flourish under a defensive minded coach like Scott Skiles.
6. Sacramento Kings: Emmanuel Mudiay, China
If Emmanuel Mudiay does indeed slip all the way to 6, it’s hard to imagine Sacramento passing up on him. He’s got the super hero like athleticism, quickness and scoring ability to be a superstar in this league, similar to stars like John Wall and Jrue Holiday.
