5. Jarell Martin, LSU, 6’9″, Sophomore

Jarell Martin offers plenty of intrigue and upside for a guy projected go early in the second round.

In terms of body type, he’s got the prototypical frame for a power forward, standing at 6’9″ and 240 pounds.

He also has a unique combination of athleticism and strength, which should allow him match up nicely against opposing NBA big men.

All of those physical aspects suggest Jarell has the tools to be a stud, but it’s his offense that’s keeping him from being a sure thing.

His jumpshot is still a complete work in progress, shooting a dismal 27 percent from three point range last season.

What’s worse is he lacks much of a post game, relying too heavily on his size and athleticism to score points inside the restricted area.

If he can improve his offensive arsenal, Martin has a chance to be an excellent value this late in the draft. That’s a big if at this point though.
