Heat fans couldn’t have had a better draft experience. Going into the draft, the Heat needed a wing and they possibly got the best one in the entire draft at No. 10. I don’t know why Justise Winslow fell in the draft, but he’s exactly what this Heat team needed.
Maybe Winslow falling was a good thing, especially if it takes some of the expectations off him. If he was a top-5 pick, things would be different.
Winslow provides the Heat with much-needed 3 point shooting and perimeter defense. Loul Deng is getting up there in age and if the Heat do decide to bring him back, Winslow will be a great guy in a 6th man role. With Wade as his mentor, I think Winslow can thrive with Miami for years to come.
