NBA Rumors: The Toronto Raptors and free agent center Bismarck Biyombo have reportedly agreed to a two-year deal
The Toronto Raptors continue to have a solid offseason. After signing DeMarre Carroll to a to a four-year, $60 million deal earlier this week, the Raptors and unrestricted free agent Bismack Biyombo have reportedly agreed to a two-year, $6 million deal.
"[via Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports]Free-agent center Bismack Biyombo has agreed to a two-year, $6 million contract with the Toronto Raptors, league sources told Yahoo Sports.Biyombo joins forward DeMarre Carroll as the second free agent to agree to a deal with the Raptors this week. Together, Biyombo and Carroll – who agreed to a four-year, $64 million deal – are expected to play a part in reshaping the Raptors’ defense next season."
The market for Centers has been weak this offseason. Robin Lopez and DeAndre Jordan have signed with new teams, leaving other teams scrambling for whatever remaining big men are left to snag.
Biyombo and averaged 4.8 points, 6.4 rebounds and 1.5 blocked shots in 19.4 minutes per game for the Hornets last season.
The Raptors were 23th in team blocks (4.4 blocks per game). Biyombo will fit in nice with a Raptors team that doesn’t need his scoring– just his defensive presence.
