I wasn’t sure it was possible, but the top-tier of the Western Conference might’ve gotten even stronger this summer — specifically, the San Antonio Spurs.
The Spurs clearly won the offseason. Not only by adding LaMarcus Aldridge, but by also acquiring David West (on discount) and Ray McCallum (via trade from Sacramento). The Golden State Warriors are still the defending NBA Champions, but the Spurs have to be considered the favorites to win the West right now.
Add in the fact that the Oklahoma City Thunder, via a healthy Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook, should be back among the conversation for the best team in the NBA, and you can predict the Western Conference to only be more cutthroat than last season.
And we still can’t count out the Los Angeles Clippers, especially now that DeAndre Jordan is back on board. Oh, by the way, the Houston Rockets and Memphis Grizzlies won’t be bad, either.
Here’s to predicting the top-8 in the Western Conference.
