7. DeMar DeRozan, Toronto Raptors
2014-15 Stats: 20.1 points, 4.6 rebounds
Man, I’m going to catch a ton of heat from fans of the Toronto Raptors for having DeMar DeRozan this low. But, in the era of 3-and-D wings, how do I rank DeRozan higher?
He stuffs the stat sheet scoring 20.1 points, 4.6 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game, but he doesn’t play defense at a high level and his shooting outside of the paint is scary. Also, while he gets credit for getting to the line, if teams stop trying to use force on him when he bullies his way into the lane, his scoring will drop significantly if he stops getting easy points at the charity stripe.
DeRozan only made 41 percent of his field goals and just 33 percent of his field goal attempts (319) from 15-19 feet. While that percentage is scary, what makes that worse is that midrange jumper was his most attempted shot last season by a large margin.
