We continue our week-long NBA summer player ranking series by putting together our list of top-10 small forwards in the NBA right now

They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. As we look at the top-10 small forwards in the NBA today, I chose to mimic the great Bill Simmons in his annual NBA Trade Value columns…sort of. Similar to his rules, age matters — would you rather have ‘Melo for five seasons or Kawhi for 12? Also, we’re running this list in reverse order — if ‘Melo is sitting at No. 5, you’d better believe that Phil Jackson would entertain offers for players ranked 1-4.
This is the part where I’ll take the rankings in a different direction. Salaries, contract lengths, and cap ramifications will NOT be considered. I’m going to lay out who the top-10 talents are at the small forward position. If you think someone’s missing, they’re either a) categorized into the SG/PF lists or; b) they’re not one of the 10 best on my list!
You are not going to agree with this list — no one ever does with these types of subjective rankings. So, I’ve got a proposition for you. If you disagree with any omissions or specific rankings, simply leave a comment as to why and I’ll make sure to shout you out in a future post. All I ask is that you read the entire article — timed it at just over two minutes.
Let the debating begin!
