We conclude our week-long NBA summer player ranking series with our list of top-10 centers in the NBA right now
Ah, the center, the only job in the country where an employee can make a living by being tall. I’ve always envied centers. On offense, they run back and forth across the paint until they receive a pass in the post. Then they simply extend their arms, and dunk the basketball for an easy two points. Could the job description be any easier?

But where the players really make their money is on defense. I’m sure you dedicated NBA fans are well aware of the emphasis teams put on playing stifling defense (it’s okay to laugh, that was a joke). However, on defense, centers are not only posed with the challenge of having to run back to the other side of the court, but they are also asked to contest shots. I know, it’s absurd.
But what you have to admire the most about the center position is that they can shoot below 40 percent from the free-throw line, and still make over $3 million next season (yeah, I’m talking about you Andre Drummond).
So without further ado, I give you my top-10 NBA centers, whom we applaud for shooting below 100 percent from the field. Really, all you do is dunk, how are you only shooting 60 percent from the field?
