9. Tyson Chandler, Phoenix Suns

2014-2015 Stats: 10.3 points, 11.5 rebounds and 1.2 blocks

The Suns paid $52 million for Tyson Chandler this offseason for a reason, I just haven’t found it yet. Sure, Chandler shot 66.6 percent from the field last season, but 43.2 percent of his shot attempts were dunks. This is the part I don’t understand. How is Chandler only shooting 66.6 percent if just a little less than half of his shots are dunks? Oh yeah, it’s because he is shooting 8.6 percent from shots taken between 3-10 feet from the basket. Either way, Chandler earns this No. 9 spot because of his rebounding.

Now that I have vented about Chandler’s scoring ability, I would like to commend him for his hustle and his rebounding instincts. I could care less that Chandler is scoring 10.3 points per game. At 7-foot, even Fab Melo could score 10.3 points per game if given the same minutes, and he single-handedly destroyed Jim Boeheim. But Chandler did average 3.9 offensive rebounds per game. He was creating almost four extra shots per game for his team because of his hustle, and with the Warriors having the highest win margin with an average of 9.6 points, according to teamrankings.com, four shots can make a difference.

Chandler’s rebounding ability and offensive positioning earn him this spot, and apparently $52 million. How much money does being 5-foot-10 make you?
