The Suns training staff pulled off some miracle that actually got Shaq to play almost a full season in 2008-09. He averaged 18 points and eight rebounds at 36 years old.

That Suns team was loaded with potential and was one piece away from the title. Shaq was supposed to be that missing piece but…health reasons crippled this team that featured Steve Nash, Amar’e Stoudemire, Grant Hill, a young Goran Dragic, Jason Richardson, Matt Barnes and Boris Diaw, but hey Shaq was old so all is forgiven right?

They didn’t make the playoffs. Wow. Off to Cleveland he went.
