16. Jeff Hornacek, Phoenix Suns

I wouldn’t say that Jeff Hornacek is a significantly better coach than Alvin Gentry right now. But the team that Hornacek is working with is a lot less gifted. Where Gentry had Steve Nash, Hornacek had Goran Dragic. Where Gentry had Amar’e Stoudemire, Hornacek had Markieff Morris. And where Gentry had Channing Frye, well…Hornacek also had Channing Frye.

Sure, Hornacek lost most of the Suns’ talented players to free agency between Dragic and Gerald Green. But he now has Tyson Chandler to work with, who is the most one-dimensional center in the history of the NBA.

The Suns will be an average team at best next season, which is perfect for Hornacek, who is an average coach at best.
