NBA: Looking At The Best Big Three’s In NBA History
By Mark Wilson
Wilt Chamberlain, Elgin Baylor and Jerry West
Los Angeles Lakers, 1968-1971
This Los Angeles Lakers team were the Utah Jazz during those three years – they just couldn’t get it done.
Wilt Chamberlain was still able to dominate any opponent that came his way, with averages of 2o/21 while Baylor was aging but still able to handle a per of 25/11. West was the youngest of the trio, at 30, when they got together, but even with the two offensive powerhouses, he still managed to average 26/7.
They managed to make the NBA Finals two of the three years they were together, but couldn’t pull it out until Baylor retired. Should of just gave him a ring for putting his all on the line, though.
