Jason Kidd

The coaching entity that is Jason Kidd has evolved. Once viewed as a coach who was in over his head, he has made the jump. Maybe what he needed all along was a jump to Milwaukee. He is way past his days of spilling his water in order to gain an extra timeout.

He transformed a lowly Milwaukee team into a playoff team. They became a defensive juggernaut and were top-10 in nearly every major defensive category. Granted, some of the credit needs to go to his assistant coach/defensive savant Sean Sweeney. The coaches took the length and versatility of their personnel and maximized the potential.

Jason Kidd was a cerebral player. It only makes sense that he would end up being a cerebral coach. His ability to relate to players has earned him the respect of all who now play for him. How do you communicate to a team full of youngsters? How do you help increase their basketball knowledge?

Simple. He has taken up the habit of giving his players quizzes. Yes…quizzes. The topics range from basketball history to upcoming opponents habits and strategies.

He demands the best from his players and his move to Milwaukee has seemed to help both him and the Bucks. Both parties seemed to be intertwined now for the long haul. If he continues his growth as a coach and leader he figures to be the best person to guide this young team towards their bright future.
