Question: How many moves away from contention are the Pelicans and will they happen this season?

There wasn’t a lot of roster turnover this offseason for the Pelicans. How long will they rely simply on Anthony Davis’ greatness? I think their biggest weakness is in the paint alongside Davis.

The Omer Asik experiment last season was mostly lackluster. However, Asik is serviceable, despite not being an evergreen, a player who is consistent and dependable over a long period of time. Also, Jrue Holiday‘s best years are probably behind him.

They could use upgrades at pretty much every position other than Davis and maybe Tyreke Evans. You’ve got five years, New Orleans. Make it work!
