Argentina

FIBA Ranking: 3

NBA Players on Roster: Andres Nocioni, Luis Scola

Outlook: Argentina and Brazil have very similar profiles heading into the tournament. They’re a basketball powerhouse who has suffered a couple of questionable exhibition losses – namely to Uruguay, Canada, and Brazil.

Unlike their South American rivals, they do not have an Olympic berth clinched yet, but have a couple of NBA veterans to lead the way. Nocioni and Scola will be joined by Nicolas Laprovittola (2014 FIBA Intercontinental Cup MVP) and Facundo Campazzo (2012 & 2014 Argentine League Finals MVP).

Head coach, Sergio Hernandez, will face a media storm if his Argentinian team fails to qualify for Rio.
