Backcourt: Mike Conley Jr & Courtney Lee
The Grizzlies have always had an issue with their backcourt. While many believe that Mike Conley Jr has improved, his production is still not top-10.
I understand that the cornerstones of the team is still Zach Randolph and Marc Gasol, but at some point he has to take command and demand to be more involved in the offense. Maybe I’m being too hard on him, but he is about to enter his 7th year in the NBA, and has yet to average more than seven assists per game.
The shooting guard position has been a sore foot for years. Courtney Lee is serviceable, but nothing to write home to your mom about. Perhaps one of the main reasons Conley will never succeed as a true point guard with high assist output.
