With the official NBA season tipping off in a few weeks, here are five trades that should happen at some point this season

A couple weeks ago, I outlined why the Clippers were doomed for an underwhelming 2015-16 campaign. The article was going smoothly until the following solution was proposed – trade Chris Paul for Kyrie Irving. It riled a few feathers, specifically those of Clipper Nation, and, while I still stand by the analysis, I couldn’t help but cringe a little when news broke of Irving possibly being out until January.
Playing with ESPN’s Trade Machine is incredibly fun and well worth a few (hundred) minutes of fake trade ideas. Successful trades can be ridiculously ironic, like this one which has Vince Carter back in Toronto and Chris Paul (finally) with the Lakers, and downright one-sided, like this one that lands in Stephen Curry and Blake Griffin in Cleveland with Lebron James and Kevin Love. All joking aside, the proposed trades below are much more feasible for all teams involved.
With the preseason a month away, rumours continue to fly of unhappy players and unhappy owners. These next five trades are aimed to please both sides while addressing needs and/or moving those players to better situations.
