Following a successful season, general Manager John Hammond has agreed to a contract extension with the Milwaukee Bucks through the 2016-2017 season.
The Milwaukee Bucks and general manager John Hammond have agreed to a contract extension through the 2016-2017 season, according to multiple reports.
Charles F. Gardner of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel was first to break the news via Twitter:
Gardener also announced the Bucks would not retain assistant general manager David Morway, who spent the past 2 seasons with the team.
During Hammond’s tenure the Bucks have combined for a record of 240-318, earning 3 trips to the playoffs as well as 4 trips to the lottery.
Hammond has done well assembling a young and exciting roster, drafting key players like Giannis Antetokounmpo, Jabari Parker and Khris Middleton, while also acquiring Greg Monroe (via free agency) and Michael Carter-Williams (via trade).
Last season was the best record the Bucks have posted since the 2009-2010 season, so it’s expected that they will only continue to improve.
Now it’s all up to Hammond and head coach Jason Kidd to make sure that strategy goes according to plan.
