Golden State Warriors

Last Year’s Outcome: 67-15, NBA Champions

Best-Case Scenario: NBA Champions

Why: Why not? The Warriors are just as deep and maybe even a little bit better than last year. Give Steve Kerr another year to gain more experience and the players more time to improve, then the Warriors become that much more scary. There is no reason to believe that the Warriors cannot repeat. They are deep, strong defensively, lights out shooters and they have the confidence that comes from a championship. There was no other best-case than a repeat title for Stephen Curry and company.

Worst-Case Scenario: First Round Playoff Exit

Why: Anything can happen when the playoffs come along. If Golden State hits a wall or start out slow, they may not be able to make up the ground as far as seeding is concerned. The better team doesn’t always win in a 7 game series, and that could very well be the fate that Golden State faces. This is most likely not going to happen, but if it does and the first round match-up is not a favorable one, the mighty Warriors could fall.

What Will Probably Happen: Western Conference Finals Appearance

Why: You aren’t supposed to pick against the defending champs, but the San Antonio Spurs look poised to take the Western Conference crown. The Warriors will be most likely be the first or second seed and seem destined for a showdown with the Spurs powerhouse. Right now, the edge goes to the Spurs, but it will be a battle for the ages. That is must-see TV that all NBA fans should be rooting for.
