New York Knicks

Last Year’s Outcome: 17-65, Lottery

Best-Case Scenario: Make Playoffs

Why: The New York Knicks, unlike the other bottom-feeding teams in the Eastern Conference from last season, actually upgraded their team this past summer. With the health of Carmelo Anthony returning and the additions of Arron AfflaloRobin Lopez and the arrival of Kristaps Porzingis, the Knicks will have an opportunity to really surprise a few teams this season.

Heck, looking at the Eastern Conference, with Melo back, they’re going to have a solid chance at potentially making the playoffs.

Worst-Case Scenario: 25-Win Season

Why: The Knicks’, who are coming off a sub-20 win season, worst-case scenario this season would be getting off to a rocky start, ultimately culminating with the team deciding to move on from Carmelo Anthony. Melo ends up in Chicago and the Knicks are, once again, headed for the top of the lottery. Though, this time, they don’t own their first-round draft pick.

What Will Probably Happen: 40-Win Season

Why: I’m actually pretty high on the Knicks this season. I’m a big believer in Carmelo Anthony, and believe that Porzingis is going to be slightly better than what many are projecting him to be. The additions of Afflalo and Lopez will also pay dividends from the opening tip.
