NBA: Top 10 Forgotten Draft Busts Of All-Time
By Mark Wilson
5. Bo Kimble, Los Angeles Clippers
Drafted: 8th Overall, 1990
College: Loyola Marymount
Bo Kimble was to scoring for the NCAA as to what Kobe is in the NBA. Anywhere on the floor, this kid was automatic. He averaged 35 points per game his last year as he was fueled by the death of his childhood, high school and college friend, Hank Gathers, who passed away in the middle of a basketball game.
Kimble would light up all competition – he dropped 42 on Larry Johnson, 37 on Terry Mills and dominated countless others; he was a scoring machine.
The NBA has a way of making superhuman people look like Clark Kent real quick. Kimble’s offensive genius quickly turned into Rain-Man like symptoms when the bright lights of the NBA came calling. The Clippers thought they hit the jackpot but, like many of their other high picks, they were left with nothing but false hopes.
Kimble lasted just three years in the NBA, with a total of 574 points.
