The Golden State Warriors kind of had the perfect season. It’s safe to say that it won’t happen again this season.
While I don’t believe they’ll have another perfect season, that doesn’t mean I don’t think they can still win the NBA Championship. I just don’t believe that EVERYTHING will go their way again, as it did last season.
In order to complete the repeat, which is often harder than winning the initial championship, the Warriors are going to need health, as every team needs, and Stephen Curry to continue to play like the best point guard in the NBA. That, and Klay Thompson is going to have to show up when it matters this time.
Even though the Warriors won the championship, it’s easy to forget that Thompson was almost a no-show in the NBA Finals. That can’t happen again. Luckily, the Cavaliers weren’t at full strength and couldn’t make them pay.
Additionally, Draymond Green needs to prove that he’s worth every penny – on both ends of the court.
Could it happen? Sure. Though, the odds are against the Warriors from repeating. Golden State had a season to remember, a historic one. It’s almost unfair to expect them to replicate it.
