Report: Warriors To Sign Tony Mitchell

Tony Mitchell, the former 37th pick in the 2013 NBA Draft, has agreed to a free agent deal with the Golden State Warriors.

The Golden State Warriors have agreed to sign Tony Mitchell, according to a report from Shams Charania of Yahoo Sports.

Mitchell was once considered one of the top players coming out of the 2010 high school class, ranking 12th on Rivals and 24th on ESPN’s Player Rankings.

He would go on to join the University of North Texas for 2 seasons,  averaging 13.7 points, 9.3 rebounds and 2.9 blocks per game.

After getting drafted by the Detroit Pistons in 2013, Mitchell remained with the team for 2 seasons until he was traded to the Suns and waived in January.

Given the abundance of talent on the Warriors’ roster, the chances of Mitchell actually making the team appear slim to none.

However, there is a strong possibility he could earn another stint in the D-League.
