3. Jahlil Okafor, Philadelphia 76ers

Preseason Stats: 8.7 points; 39% FG

Labeled as the best offensive player from this year’s draft, Jahlil Okafor is expected to do big things this season. Add in the fact that he plays for the Philadelphia 76ers, and that they don’t have much in addition to Okafor, and you can see why his expectations might be viewed as a bit unfair this early.

Nevertheless, with Okafor’s skill-set, he shouldn’t be worried. He’ll produce.

And everything that we’ve seen from Okafor points to that exactly that happening. Because of that said pressure, and potential to stuff the stat sheet on a nightly basis, Okafor seems like the consensus frontrunner for the NBA Rookie of the Year award.

In limited time during preseason, he’s looked good – or at least has shown the potential of being really good. And right now, that’s all you could ask for.

Though, if you want to be picky, there is an area of concern for Okafor. He’s only shooting 39 percent from the field during preseason thus far. Though, that should level itself out as the regular season gets underway and Okafor is given a healthy amount of minutes.
