NBA: Predicting the 2015-16 Western Conference Playoff Seeds

6. Memphis Grizzlies
Christina – They always find a way to win, and end up in the playoff mix, so you can’t count them out. They drafted LSU power forward Jarell Martin, and added Brandan Wright and Matt Barnes during free agency – all of which should fit right into what the Grizzlies like to do. They’re known for their “grind” style of play, but they don’t create shots very well. Maybe if Jeff Green can have a breakout season, they may very well be the dark horse in the West.
Michael – It feels like the Grizzlies are always a 6th seed in the Western Conference playoff picture. It just suits them, even if they would be a top-2 seed if they were in the Eastern Conference. Nevertheless, perhaps that’s their biggest problem. They play an Eastern Conference type of game, expect reside in the West. Which often spells trouble. The Grizzlies just might not ever be good enough, with this current core, to compete for a championship in the West. Unfortunate.
