Rodney Stuckey was a revelation last season for the Indiana Pacers. In a year that seemed lost due to Paul George‘s disastrous leg injury, he helped the short-handed Pacers almost claw their way into the playoffs.
If you do not believe that he played a major role in their surprise season last year, you were not watching enough Pacers basketball. He shot a career high 39 percent from 3-point land and was the primary facilitator off of the bench. He as even the primary facilitator for the starters at some points last season.
Now, with the Pacers picking up the pace (that joke will continually be made), he is a top candidate to benefit from the stylistic change. He thrives in transition and his strength while finishing around the rim will lead to numerous opportunities off of the bench.
He also stays in his role as the primary facilitator off the bench and when he re-signed in Indiana, he made it clear he wanted a role coming off of the bench. When someone desires to come off the bench and make plays, it is a somewhat refreshing ideal.
He will see plenty of minutes and have plenty of opportunities and, if he can continue shooting at a similar clip this season from 3, he will absolutely have a shot at winning the 6th Man of the Year award.
