Not much of a reason to “Fear the Deer” in Milwaukee:
The Milwaukee Bucks were the trendy pick as the next elite team in the East. It appears people may have jumped the gun a bit on the young Bucks. With Jabari Parker still out due to injury rehab and a roster lacking perimeter shooting, the Bucks are off to a rough start.
Through their first three games, the big shocker has to be how they have struggled on the defensive end. Their defensive rating is a league worst 117.1. That is a huge surprise because their personnel looks to be set up for defensive excellence. Their ability to smother teams with their length and switch screens were some of the major positives about this team.
Now they are getting beat by an average 16 PPG and they are beyond struggling. Their rim protection is lacking majorly and their outside shooting might be worse then I expected. Khris Middleton has struggled shooting the ball and as their only outside scorer that is a problem. Giannis Antetokounmpo has had his moments, but overall this team has been underwhelming.
Again, it is early but right there is no need to fear the deer. If anything it seems to open season on venison and teams are aiming to mount the Bucks on their wall.
