The New Orleans Pelicans health concerns have reached a red alert level

Now the Pelicans have looked terrible thus far. They got drubbed by both the Golden State Warriors (expected) and the Portland Trail Blazers (I did not see that coming!) and Warriors again. The problem is Anthony Davis struggled mightily. He is averaging 21.5 PPG, 8.o RPG, and 2.5 BPG, which is good and all, but huge things were expected from him. He is shooting a poor 38% from the field and really struggled against the Golden State Warriors. I mean, it is easily understandable why he is struggling. Have you seen his fellow starters? I mean injuries have decimated the team and the starters are a smorgasbord of no names or just untalented people. Don’t believe me? Take a look.

Starters against the Warriors                                                     Starters against the Blazers

C. Kendrick Perkins                                                                       C. Kendrick Perkins

F. Anthony Davis                                                                            F. Anthony Davis

F. Dante Cunningham                                                                   F. Dante Cunningham

G. Eric Gordon                                                                                G. Eric Gordon

G. Nate Robinson                                                                           G. Jrue Holiday

I mean let’s face it, anytime Kendrick Perkins is starting that is an issue. This team does not have enough weapons if they are not healthy to let Anthony Davis top teams to shreds. Now teams can completely focus on him and try to take away everything from him.

They aren’t quite to panic mode but the Blazers game was an eye opener. If this team continues to struggle their playoff chances continue to dim. They are in a dangerous place already early in this season.
