How we’ve missed Russell Westbrook and Kevin Durant together
Watching these two guys just go bananas in a dramatic comeback victory over the Orlando Magic reminded me just how great these two are when they can play together. Don’t believe me? Obviously you don’t watch too much basketball.
They combined for 91 points, 23 rebounds, 10 assists, and 3 blocks. Are you kidding me? Both players took clutch shots and hit clutch shots and I think I am ready to forever put an end to the moniker Batman and Robin with them. It is more like Batman and Superman – or Batman and Batman’s clone.
This was a game that offered the drama of a late season game and it was only the mere second game of the season. Needless to say, the Thunder are back and in top form (after dispatching the San Antonio Spurs) and this is the star power the NBA has missed the past two years.
Knock on wood, say a prayer, do a rain-dance, or do whatever silly superstition you believe in for this team to stay healthy. A healthy OKC is great for anyone who loves the NBA and besides, let’s see how well these two do together this season. I, for one, hope Durant doesn’t split in his impending free agency and these two stay together forever. This team is easily the biggest story for this season.
