Kobe Bryant Takes A Seat On The Bench For Russell
Now that Kobe Bryant has admitted that he is no longer the player that he once was and that he will indeed be retiring after the season, it’s time for him to take a step back. Let him still play 20 minutes per game, but off the bench. It may be a tough pill for him to swallow, but if he really cares about the future of the Lakers, this is the best move for him to make.
It’s one thing to write a poem and announce that you plan on hanging it up, it’s another thing to actually put that plan into action. Kobe doesn’t need to be playing 30-plus minutes a night and jacking up close to 20 shots a game. That needs to change. And perhaps now that Kobe has made it official, maybe Byron Scott will follow suit.
