NBA Power Rankings: How Real Are The Miami Heat?

I trust Coach Bud, and I believe he’ll have the Hawks playing at a high level by the end of the year, probably even as a top-3 seed in the Eastern Conference.

The team’s defense still leaves a lot to be desired – they’re ranked 14th in the NBA, but that could be the impact of losing a player like DeMarre Carroll. Thing about this season is that we have no idea if any team in the East, including the Hawks, is good or not. Seeds 1-10 are separated by three games. Does that mean that this is a quality, from top to bottom, conference or that every team is bad? We simply don’t know that yet.

Atlanta Hawks (13-9)

Last week: 2-1
Last rank: 8

After one of their most grueling four-game stretches of the season – against the Grizzlies, Spurs, Thunder and Raptors – getting out with a 2-2 record has to be considered a victory. At 13-9 though, it’s hard to be overly excited about what the Atlanta Hawks have accomplished this season, especially after their 60-win campaign a year ago.
