NBA MVP Race: The Leader And Four Dark Horse Candidates

1 of 6

A little more than a quarter into the season, we look at the NBA MVP favorite followed by four dark horse candidates that could overtake the lead

We have seen several big name players showcase their talents and skills this season but as far as the NBA MVP race goes, it appears that one man is well above the rest. Stephen Curry, who is also the reigning NBA MVP, has put together a monster of a season but we are only a little over a quarter into this season. A lot can change and there’s still plenty of time for other candidates to fill their résumés.

Will Curry remain the top dog in the NBA for the duration of the season? Who, if so, will emerge to challenge Curry this season? Will it be LeBron James, Kevin Durant or even Russell Westbrook – who all have taken somewhat of a backseat this season?

We look at the leader in the clubhouse (right now) and four potential dark horse candidates that could possibly take down the overwhelming favorite.
