Wish: Melo waives his no-trade clause
For the betterment of the franchise, the New York Knicks should want Carmelo Anthony to waive his no-trade clause. It may not help them this season, or even next season, but it will in 3 to 5 years. With the emergence of Kristaps Porzingis, the Knicks have a new face to build around.
Because of that, the Knicks should trade Melo and begin to build around Porzingis. This is probably the best time to trade Melo, too. If not now, they may never get anything in exchange for him.
It won’t happen, but it’s fun to wonder what this type of trade would look like…
