In this week’s edition of our NBA Power Rankings, we profile the one team that can spoil a Warriors-Cavaliers NBA Finals rematch this season
There’s only one team that can spoil the party. One team that can stand in the way of the likely Golden State Warriors – Cleveland Cavaliers Part II.
The San Antonio Spurs.
No one is paying attention and they aren’t garnering much appreciation, but they’re going to be a factor at some point this season. In May.
When we get to that eventual Western Conference Finals that features Stephen Curry vs Tony Parker, Kawhi Leonard vs Klay Thompson and LaMarcus Aldridge vs Dramond Green. When we all start writing our LeBron James vs the Warriors, This Time It’s Revenge, features; the Spurs will be a factor.
San Antonio is so good, that we may never get that Cavs-Warriors sequel. And, yet, no one cares. Not yet, anyways.
The Spurs have the NBA’s best defense and the third best offense. No one cares.
They’re also off to the second-best start in franchise history, one that, I remind you, has won five NBA Championships. Still, no one cares.
You will, though. Soon enough. When the Spurs ruin our chance at the Warriors-Cavs NBA Finals rematch.
Here are this week’s NBA Power Rankings.
