As we officially enter the new year and leave 2015 behind, here are the 10 biggest storylines to follow as the 2016 NBA year unfolds
The 2015 NBA Calendar year has come and gone. With what began with LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers as the headlined team in the NBA, ends with them taking a backseat to the new Golden boy of the NBA.
It’s now Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors’ league, and the other 29 teams are just playing in it. But plenty of other notable things happened in 2015 that led to that point. Here are a few of the highlights from the year that was.
- The Warriors win the 2015 NBA Championship; win 28-straight regular season games.
- DeAndre Jordan was a member of the Dallas Mavericks, and then he wasn’t. Also, he began the Emoji War of 2015.
- Kobe Bryant officially called it a career.
- The Rise of Small-Ball, continued move away from the center position.
- Kevin Durant and Paul George are back and fully recovered.
- The Spurs are now a hot-spot for free agents, apparently.
All in all, 2015 was a great year for the NBA overall. And 2016 could be much, much better. Here is a look at the 10 biggest storylines to keep an eye on as the 2016 calendar year begins.
