4. LeBron James, Cleveland Cavaliers
Stats: 25.6 points, 7.1 rebounds, 5.9 assists, 26.4 PER
LeBron James might be an afterthought right now, but his Cleveland Cavaliers are still on pace to finish with the third best record in the NBA, just behind the Golden State Warriors and San Antonio Spurs. That should count for something.
Unfortunately, it’s difficult to reward LeBron for what he does in the regular season. Then again, four NBA MVPs, two NBA Championships and six NBA Finals appearances will do that for players. LeBron is certainly graded a bit different than his peers, and deservedly so, but he should still get some consideration for league MVP.
Even more so if he can lead the Cavs to a significant win streak during the second half of the NBA season.
