Who is your midseason Executive of the Year?

Jason Coldiron: R.C Buford, Spurs. Buford added Aldridge and retained Leonard for the best run team in the NBA.

Clevis Murray: Think executive of the year without a question goes to R.C. Buford. What he did over the summer was simply amazing. Got an All-Star in their prime to sign with San Antonio, signed David West with him taking a major paycut, and of course, re-signing Manu Ginobili and Kawhi Leonard. To piggyback off the A+ signings, he’s also inked to new role players to the team in Jonathan Simmons and Boban Marjanovic.

It’s things like this as to why San Antonio is one of the winningest franchises in all of sports next to the New England Patriots of the NFL. Both have a “next man up” mentality and always find gems in the pile while everyone is looking for gold, silver and rubies.

More from Sir Charles In Charge

Evan Caulfield: Dallas GM Donnie Nelson looks like a wiz for the acquisitions he made over the summer. Zaza Pachulia and Deron Williams have both exceeded expectations, while Wes Matthews is slowly morphing back to the elite guard we once knew. The Mavericks may not be a perennial title contender, but they’ve clearly taken a step in the right direction this season.

John Armstrong: I’m going to give it to Phil Jackson. I think the Spurs made the sexiest moves over the offseason, but they’d have been good anyway because Kawhi Leonard is who’s driving their success, rather than their free agent acquisitions. I credit Jackson for doing his homework, believing in his Kristaps Porzingis pick, and solidifying the Knicks roster by adding solid rotation players like Arron Afflalo and Robin Lopez. Good job, Zen Master.

Michael Saenz: R.C. Buford. He got LaMarcus Aldridge to come to San Antonio, and convinced David West to leave $10 million on the table in Indiana. Case closed.
