Carmelo Anthony
There was a whole lot of traction on this rumor before the season. When the New York Knicks failed to hit a home run during free agency and when they drafted what many believed was a long term project (Kristaps Porzingis) in the NBA Draft, many pointed to the Knicks eventually trading Melo at some point this season.
Instead, the Knicks have looked like a playoff contender with the emergence of Porzingis and a different side of Melo that the NBA had not seen before.
The Knicks could still trade Melo, but his willingness to shoot at a lesser volume and make the smart play instead of take contested shot after contested shot this season has taken the Knicks to another level. New York might make the playoffs this season and, as long as that’s a possibility, Carmelo Anthony isn’t going anywhere.
