Hornets Get: Dwight Howard

Rockets Get: Al Jefferson, Marvin Williams, Draft Picks

Much like the Boston Celtics, trading for a player like Dwight Howard could do great things for the Charlotte Hornets’ organization. When was the last time this franchise had a high profile player? Never?

This is the perfect time for Michael Jordan to no longer be the laughing stock of the rest of the NBA. He could put a package around the expiring contracts of Al Jefferson, Marvin Williams and draft picks in order to acquire the headlining center.

The Rockets would get Jefferson, who can score with the best of them and who comes off the books after this season, and Marvin Williams, who has the ability to play the stretch-4 at times off the bench.

Ultimately, the Hornets’ likely inability to re-sign Howard, which could be a problem if he doesn’t want to play in Charlotte going forward, could be the reason why they don’t pursue such deal.
