Hawks Get: Dwight Howard, Montrezl Harrell

Rockets Get: Al Horford, Thabo Sefolosha, Mike Scott

In the theme of the more recent NBA, the Houston Rockets would trade Dwight Howard to his hometown of Atlanta. In this scenario, Al Horford has informed the Hawks that there’s a chance that he could sign with another team this offseason. In response, the Hawks have decided to trade Horford in an attempt to not lose him for nothing.

The Rockets and Hawks would essentially exchange centers with a couple of salary filler players on the side. Picks could also be an option here for the Hawks.

The Hawks and Rockets would both get half-season rentals, at the very least, and would get a different flavor in their lineups.

This isn’t an ideal trade for either side, but at least both teams will get what they want from their indecisive big men. Plus, having Dwight finish out his career in Atlanta wouldn’t be the worst site to see. It would almost be a…wait for it…fell good story for Dwight – something that we haven’t had in quite some time.
