NBA: 10 Best Buyout/Street Free Agents That Can Help A Playoff Push
Andrea Bargnani
Before the jokes start, let me explain why Andrea Bargnani can help a team if in the right opportunity. Yes, he’s going to forever be talked about as a bust in the NBA. He simply didn’t live up to being the No. 1 overall pick in the 2006 NBA Draft. But that’s not fair.
Bargnani has played nicely off the bench for both the Knicks and Nets in stints during the last two seasons. He isn’t supposed to be on the floor for 20-plus minutes, but can still be impactful in small spurts. And that’s what type of role he needs to fill going forward – if he wants to remain in the NBA.
He’ll always have a spot overseas. He’ll thrive over there, but in the NBA his role is a limited one. If there’s a team that could use a stretch-type player, Bargnani could be the answer.
