With news that Chris Bosh is hopeful he can return this season, we look at how his return could transform the Miami Heat into a contender in the East

Chris Bosh has finally released a statement.

He says that he’s feeling good and that he remains positive that he’ll be able to return and play for the Miami Heat this season. Assuming that he can – and that the Heat team doctors clear him – we decided to look at what impact he could have in Miami.

First of all, to get this out of any narrative that’s flying out there, by no means will Bosh’s return make the Miami Heat worse.

There had been a recent narrative forming that the Heat could actually be better off without Bosh, because the team has accumulated an 8-3 record since the All-Star break. That’s false.

For one, the team completely changed the way it played since Bosh dropped out of the lineup. It’s not playing the same style it did with Bosh. So, we haven’t exactly seen Bosh in this slightly adjusted Heat style of play.

Plus, just looking at it objectionably, why would adding an All-Star to any team make a team worse?

Oh, and Bosh, when healthy and playing at his best, is this team’s best player. And it’s not even close.

With that out of the way, here’s how Chris Bosh’s return – if he gets cleared to return to action – can transform the Miami Heat into a contender in the Eastern Conference.
