Miami Heat: How Chris Bosh’s Return Could Transform Heat Into Contender
Completes Defense
While Hassan Whiteside may be the best shot-blocker the NBA has seen in a very long time, there’s no question that Chris Bosh is the better team defender. Bosh isn’t going to block the five or six shots that Whiteside can on any given night, but he is going to fill the lane, help and make every rotation.
That’s probably Bosh’s most underrated attribute – how well of a defender he is. Adding Bosh to the lineup of Josh Richardson, Justise Winslow, Luol Deng and – perhaps if he returns from injury – Tyler Johnson would be one of the best defensive lineups in the NBA.
Which could provide to be one of the team’s biggest weapons in the playoffs.
Bosh would also be the answer to teams going small against the Heat. You know how Whiteside doesn’t come out on shooters? Bosh will. And that could be the difference between Stephen Curry hitting a go-ahead three-pointer to passing it back to Draymond Green.
