Chicago: Pau Gasol Introduces Bryant

The second half of Kobe Bryant’s career is highlighted by back-to-back championships in 2009 and 2010.

After Shaq’s departure from Los Angeles, Bryant was left without a running mate to help return the team to greatness after they got humbled by the Detroit Pistons in 2004.

His help came in the form of Pau Gasol. A steal for the Lakers, the Spaniard made an immediate impact on the team. Most touchingly, Gasol and Bryant bonded to become friends off the court.

Bryant stood by Gasol and supported him throughout the good and bad during the latter’s tenure with the Lakers.

When Bryant came out to the Windy City, there was only one person who could introduce him.
