In this week’s NBA Power Rankings edition, we debate whether the Cleveland Cavaliers are really in trouble heading into the playoffs
The question that everyone wants to know, with the NBA playoffs just a few weeks away is: Are the Cleveland Cavaliers vulnerable?
On top of the true disconnect between LeBron James, management and the rest of the team, one thing that’s been harder to ignore has been their struggles on the court. In fact, it probably dates back to the departure of David Blatt, which seems like years ago.
Since that point, the Cavs are 22-10. They were 30-11 prior to the firing.
Simply put, Blatt wasn’t the problem and Tyronn Lue clearly isn’t the solution. Furthermore, with every passing game, it’s becoming more clear that Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love simply aren’t the guys that LeBron James is going to win with in Cleveland.
Even before we know the outcome of this year’s playoff run, I can say that with certainty. In short, the Cavs should be concerned heading into the postseason. You could actually make the case that the Cavs are playing their worst basketball in the two years that LeBron’s been in Cleveland.
And that’s really concerning.
Here are this week’s NBA Power Rankings.
