Nails Free Throws After Tearing Achilles
In the midst of a disappointing 2012-13 season, Kobe Bryant, in the final couple weeks of the regular season, was trying to will his Lakers, which had added Steve Nash and Dwight Howard in the offseason, to the playoffs. Successfully, he did. Although, he tore his Achilles on the third to final game of the regular season, against the Golden State Warriors.
In the six games leading up to his injury, Kobe had played at least 40 minutes in each of those games. The Lakers closed the season by winning eight of their last nine games to sneak away with one of the final spots in the playoffs.
However, they lost Kobe in the process. Kobe tore his Achilles but in typical Kobe fashion stayed in the game and nailed two free throws before walking off the court.
Kobe was never the same player after the injury.
